After leaving Arizona we crossed the Colorado River (again) and entered California. We went through dunes that would rival anything in size that I have seen in the deserts of the Middle East. Then we cruised through the barren desert country where temperatures in the morning were already approaching 100 degrees. Then into the mountains, where we rose from below sea level to over 4,000 feet and the temperature dropped from over 100 to into the 60's. I thought I was going to freeze up there. Very windy too!

Then downward we rode, reaching the coast by before three in the afternoon. By 4, I had my feet in the sand and the surf of the Pacific Ocean. Check out the pics! Thanks to God for safe travels so far and a really good bike!
